As I've watched picture after picture and video after video roll of last night's tornado damage, my heart breaks for all those impacted. My heart breaks for those walking through loss of life, loss of homes, loss of possessions, loss of security, and loss of stability. My first reaction is to pray.
While I wish we could gather tonight to pray, our season of transition prohibits us from praying together in person. But we can still pray together.
At 3pm today, I'm asking you to pray 3 prayers:
- Pray for the hearts of those who are dealing with loss
- Pray for God's peace to those who are seeking clarity and understanding
- Pray for a way to help
I've already begun to reach out to other churches to find a way we can get involved to help. I hope to have some pragmatic ways we can get involved soon.
For now, let's pray.
